 THE GREAT LITTER PICK 19th March 2017

The Village looks better for the Litter Pick on Sunday 19th March 2017; with thanks to all who helped with the pick, and to those who catered afterwards at the Coffee Morning.

Thanks also to Mandy & Steve who litter picked the day before.

Stubton Village Defibrillator

The Defribrillator is fully operationall; sited in the village phonebox, which has now had a new coat of paint.

The next stage is the setting up of Maintainers and Operatives through the Steering Group, within the village

and training & maintenance package provided through the Community Heartbeat Trust.

Burns Night Supper 23rd January 2016

 There was a gathering of the Stubton and district clans for the annual Burns Night supper at the village hall

on Saturday 23rd January, with a great evening had by all who attended.

The proceeds, totalling £292 from the event, are to be donated to the Church of St. Martin, Stubton.

Stubton residents overwhelmingly vote to accept the Neighbourhood Plan

 In the Referrendum on 2nd July, the turnout was over 58%, of which 90 were in favour, and only 7 against

Maniere des bohemiens

The 'improvised gypsy-jazz' group 'maniere des bohemiens' gave a rousing performance at the village hall on Saturday 14th June, enjoyed by a large crowd. Many thanks to Paul and everyone involved in the organising and in bar duty. 



Village Waste Bin finally replaced

SKDC have finally replaced the village waste bin, by the bus shelter, that was stolen in broad daylight about 2 months ago. 


Theft of posters from villager's gardens.


On the first weekend of May, posters directing people toward the area of a proposed Industrial Wind Turbine installation on the Brandon-Stubton village border, were stolen from private gardens in Stubton and surrounding villages during the night. It is believed that the thief or thieves were pro-wind activists, and non local, obviously keen to see these giant industrial-sized installations erected in areas of unspoilt countryside, rather than in their own back-yard.
